Composer Robert Gross' Chronicles is a collection of music that exists in a lineage of pitch determinate electronic works written for one synthesizer, from Babbitt to Wuorinen. Including several works for instrument and electronics in the series as well as Gross' extended electronic opera Dissonance, this recording joins in a rich tradition of ambitious collections written for multiple solo instruments and serves as a prism into the composer's style through the lens of each of the individual instrument's characteristics.
