Percussionist Haruka Fujii releases her first full-length solo recording Ingredients, exploring the colorful components of virtuoso repertoire for mixed percussion. Ingredients includes works by composers Joji Yuasa, Maki Ishii, Akemi Naito, Carl Schimmel, Ryan Streber, and Caroline Mallonee, several of which are premiere recordings and were written for Ms. Fujii. The instrumentation heard on the recording comprises a diverse sonic landscape: from a turkey gobble, conduit pipes and kazoo to traditional Japanese taiko drums and temple bowls. Ms. Fujii is joined by Eric Huebner (piano), Jonathan Hammill (toy instruments), Mutsuko Fujii, Rika Fujii, Keiko Nishikawa, and Masao Yamashita (percussion).

Multi-percussionist Haruka Fujii has become one of the most prominent solo percussionists and marimbists of her generation.
